  PIRATE ADVENTURE
Revamped for Summer 2012!

For Campers Who Have Completed Grades 5-8

A’hoy Mateys! If yar ready for a week of swashbucklin’ fun, then this is the adventure camp for you!  We’ll learn about Black Beard and other infamous buccaneers who used to terrorize the yonder waters.  Designing your own Jolly Rogers, a search for hidden treasure, and creating a pirate code are only a few of the activities campers will participate in at Camp Don Lee. 

 

 

 

 

This week also includes a scallywag’s paddle trip down the river on kayaks, a sailing day trip on the blazin’ fast Hobie Catamarans, and an over night trip to the NC Aquarium..  This exciting week will include a triphistoric Beaufort, North Carolina, with pirate parasailing and then a program at the Maritime Museum.  We will then head to Cape Lookout National Seashore to climb the lighthouse, snorkel along the sound, and see the horses at Shakelford Banks while exploring the island. 

Come climb aboard and join yar pirate mateys for an adventure unlike any other!!

 

   

This Adventure Camp is for youth who have completed grades 5-8 who want a traditional Camp Don Lee experience with some added adventure with a pirate theme.

    • Sailing Day Trip on Hobies
    • Spend the night at the Aquarium at Pine Knolls Shores
    • Snorkeling
    • Climb the Cape Lookout Lighthouse
    • See horses at Shakelford Banks
    • Design a Pirate Flag
    • A Search for Hidden Treasure
    • Learn about the Pirates of North Carolina
    • Visit Historic Beaufort
    • Go Pirate Parasailing
    • Visit the Maritime Museum

 

Pirate Adventure Campers will also get to participate in the traditional camp activities while they are Don Lee. 

Swimming, Sailing, Archery, Drama, Crafts, Canoeing, Nature, Home-in-the-woods will all be a part of this exciting and fun adventure program!
